Steve's game against Ollie was an unmitigated disaster as he was a Queen up, and had mate on the move, but he kept forgetting to press his clock and lost on time !! Having said that, Ollie played exceptionally well in the opening and middle game and, regardless of how the game ended, he certainly deserved from the game anyway.
The leading players in the U1450 Championship, Neal Roberts and Ian Maskery, played each other in the 3rd round, with Ian coming out on top and now leading the field with a perfect score of 3/3.
Ashby 1 and Ashby 2 have been drawn to play each other in the 2nd round of the Harrod Cup. This match will be played on the 2nd July.
