Ashby 2 were beaten 3.5 - 2.5 at Heathcote Arms last night in the first of this year's Harrod Cup matches. Trailing 3-1 from the first round of games, we pulled back to win the second round by 2.5 - 1.5. Once again, Steve can shoulder much of the blame for the loss. He was a pawn up and in a winning position in the first round, before completely mismanaging and blundering his game. His second game was even worse, where he was actually a Knight up before blundering again !! Well done to Ric though, who won both of his games. Click here to view the match score card.
