Unfortunately it wasn't the double we wanted this week as both Ashby 2 and Ashby 4 were beaten.
Ashby 2 travelled to Anstey 2 and went down by 3-2. The highlight of the evening, from an Ashby point of view, was a great win for Chris Tipper on board 2 against a much higher rated opponent.
Ashby 4 entertained Leicester University 2 and went down by 3.5 - 0.5. There was an excellent draw from Mick Brown on board 2 but, ultimately, the rating difference on all boards proved to be insurmountable.
There was one match played in Round 4 of the Club Championship, with Andrew Wilson and Roy Evans drawing.
