Ashby 2 were beaten 2.5 - 1.5 at Leicester University 2 on Tuesday but are appealing the result. There was an incident in Chris Tipper's game on board 3 where the Leicester Uni player was short on time and forgot to press his clock. His Captain noticed and pressed it for him, which is totally against all FIDE rules and should be an immediate loss for the player concerned. The game continued and ended in a draw over the board. However, assuming our appeal is upheld, as it should be, the game will be awarded to us and the match result changed to 2-2.
