Another Pointless Week

It was another pointless week for Ashby this week, with Ashby 1, Ashby 3 and Ashby 5 all losing.

Ashby 3 travelled to Braunstone on Wednesday and left enpty handed. Despite a draw from Tom on board 1 and a win for Nick on board 4, Larry and Steve were unable to contribute anything to the score, and we went down by 2.5 - 1.5. We are still only a point behind 3 of the teams just above us, but with games in hand.

Ashby 1 are still looking for their first win of the season following a 3-2 home defeat against a very strong Loughborough team on Thursday evening, a result that leaves us still propping up the Division 1 table. I await Tom Dove's report on the proceedings.

Ashby 5 were also at home on Thursday evening and fared no better. A 3-1 defeat against the Pork Pies from Melton Mowbray 3 ensued, although there were decent draws on boards 2 and 3 from two of our new recruits, Tyler Rowney and Paul Harrison. We remain 3 points adrift at the bottom of the Division 5 table and have played more games than the team just above us.
