Tom Gerrard played in the Major (U1800) Section of the Milton Keynes Rapidplay on Saturday and scored a very creditable 3/6.
Steve and Les played in the Intermediate Section of the Crewe Congress over Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Les played very well and, after a poor start, scored 3 successive wins, to finish on 3/5. Steve had a dismal tournament, finishing on 1.5/5. He wasn't helped by forgetting to switch his phone off before the start of the 4th round. After 15 minutes and 9 moves somebody called him and he automatically defaulted the game !!
